Robots

A Multi-Purpose Approach

We started with scientific breakthroughs and layered on top of that world-class engineering. We approach everything with a focus on function. Our robots were designed from day one to do work and get the job done.

Human-Centric Robots

Building robots to work is one thing. Building robots to navigate an existing warehouse with ease or to work in partnership with people is another.

That’s something that required getting robots in customers' hands. To build, test, and learn.

“Our robots move more like a person than the stereotypical rigid robot. That makes for a more effective robot in a world built for people.”

- Jonathan Hurst, CTO

Robot Philosophy

Our robots aren’t designed with the goal of mimicking people. We set out to create machines that can work in our spaces alongside us. Doing the job right requires many of the same physical characteristics.

It all comes back to our mission, building multi-purpose robots that are made for work.

Meet Digit

Digit by the Numbers
  • Small Footprint: 175 cm (5’9’’), <65kg (14l lbs), can carry up to 16 kg (35 lb)

  • Optimized Runtime: Digit works 16 out of 24 hours - 2 FTE equivalent

  • Autonomous Charging: Digit connects itself to its docking station when it needs to charge

  • Easy to Deploy: no long or costly retrofitting required

Walking
  • Forward

  • Backward

  • Side-to-side

  • Turn in place

  • Crouching walk

  • Up and down inclines

  • Across unstructured terrain (grass, rocks, curbs)

Other Capabilities
  • Pauses when perceives a person/barrier in its path and navigates around

  • Crouch/squat

  • Rotates upper body to “Gaze” and look in different directions

  • Uses arms, hands and feet to balance when bumped

  • Able to pick up and put down objects of varying size and weight

  • Step up and down from curbs
